Po Campo Speedy Handlebar Bag
While not as big as a basket, the Po Campo Speedy Handlebar Bag is perfect for carrying essentials like Pokemon cards, snacks, rocks, and other treasures. The bag features three pockets, including one zippered main pocket and a front pocket with easy access.
The bag can also convert to a cross-body bag, perfect for biking to the ice cream shop and then wearing the bag inside. We also appreciate that it comes in several different cute fabric designs, so that it’s not only a practical but also a fun accessory.

Woom Amiko Bag
The Woom Akimo Bag can be used in several ways–as a handlebar bag, hip pack, or cross-body bag. Our son has tended to use it on his handlebars, and then slips it off to wear inside if he’s running into the store for snacks or stopping at the pool to swim.
The inside is fairly small (smaller than the Kids Ride Shotgun hip pack listed below), but works great for smaller kids. We also like the strip across the front that can be used to lash things (we’ve attached a blink light to it).
The only thing that’s less than ideal is that the pack only comes in black–there are no cute color or design options.

Topo Designs Bike Bag Mini
Although not marketed as a “kids bike bag,” the Topo Designs Bike Bag Mini works great for that purpose thanks to it’s compact design. It also has extremely high quality construction and is waterproof–ideal if you live in a rainy climate.
It’s the perfect size for carrying a water bottle, snacks, and small toys or trinkets. Plus, it’s a beautiful bag. The fun and colorful designs are sure to appeal to kids and make biking even more exciting.
This is a bag your child can use now but will continue with them as they grow. There’s no reason a teenager wouldn’t still want to use this bag as well.

Po Campo Blip Feed Bag
If your child doesn’t need to carry much, consider the Po Campo Blip Feed Bag. It is a small bag that attaches to your child’s handlebars and can carry a water bottle or snacks. Our son has also been known to use the bag for collecting rocks!
In addition to the main pocket, there is a small mesh area on the outside where you can stash granola bar wrappers. I like this bag so much I’ve basically stolen it for myself and have used it for several hundred mile bikepacking trips and can attest to it’s durability.

Kids Ride Shotgun Hip Pack
Ok so the Kids Ride Shotgun Hip Pack isn’t technically a basket or a handlebar bag, but it’s so well loved and used by our son we had to add it. This hip pack as adorable and super functional.
Our kiddo uses it for carrying a water bottle and snacks generally, but it could be used for just about anything small. It’s also nice if your child is transporting anything valuable (cash a cell phone, etc) because they can wear it inside of a store or friends house rather than leaving it on the bike.
The pack is well made and comfortable. The part of the bag that touches your child’s skin has padded mesh on it.

MSW Kids Handlebar Bag
The MSW Kids Handlebar Bag comes in a couple of designs, but the Space Kitties are the big winner in our book. This has got to be one of the cutest kids bike bags around.
While the bag is fairly roomy, it does have a divider down the middle. While this can be helpful with organizing gear (snacks on one side, rain jacket on the other), it also makes it harder to carry a larger item like a doll or stuffed animal.
The construction isn’t quite as durable as the other bags we’ve listed here, but it’s also a little cheaper.

Po Campo Woosh Bike Basket
The Po Campo Woosh Bike Basket is a little bigger than the Speedy bag and has an open design so it’s really easy for kids to load (and unload). Unlike traditional baskets that are made of wicker or plastic, the Woosh basket is fabric and is less likely to wear out. You can even throw it in the wash if you need to.
There are a couple of cute colors/designs to choose. There are a couple of lash loops, but we wish they were located on the front rather than the side of the bag so you could attach a light. Still, they could work well for a carabiner and house key for instance.

Sunlite Mini Willow Basket
For a more traditional bike basket, we really like the Sunlite Mini Willow Basket. It comes in a couple of different colors, and according to friends, holds up well. My friend’s daughter uses it to carry her stuffed animal and it fits in nice and secure.
I like that the straps are made of leather and include a buckle. This design feels much more sturdy than velcro straps.
In addition to the Mini version, there’s also a “Bushel” version that is slightly bigger and great for elementary age kids.

Schwinn Flower Basket
I had this exact same basket as a kid, and you probably did too! The Schwinn Flower Basket is a classic.
This basket isn’t as durable as most of the other options on this list, but it’s also not that expensive. If you’re looking for a little nostalgia, this is probably the basket you want.

Anzome Metal Kids Bike Basket
We’ve tested a few too many bicycle baskets that quickly break. That’s why we like that the Anzome Basket is metal–it is sturdy and holds up to the abuse that kids can dish out.
In addition to mounting on your child’s handlebars, it can also be removed and carried around with the handle. This makes it ideal for destination rides–a picnic or the beach.

Things To Consider When Choosing A Kids Bike Basket Or Bag
Unlike a kids bike, kids bike baskets and bags aren’t THAT expensive, so don’t spend too much time researching and questioning your decision. Still, here are a few quick things you may want to consider when choosing.
Functionality
Think about what your child will be using the bag or basket for. If your kiddo is looking for a basket for their stuffed animal, you don’t need to worry too much about durability or special features, but you do want to make sure that the basket and opening are big enough.
On the other hand, if your kiddo is doing longer rides or needs to carry essentials (water, food, money), then you want to look for bags with durable materials and construction. Also, consider the size and shape of the bag or basket, as well as any pockets or compartments it may have, to ensure that it can hold everything your child needs.
Finally, is your child going into shops or other places where they might need to take their valuables along with them? If so, look for a bag that’s easy to remove from the handlebars and has a strap or some way to carry it inside.
Durability
Kids–especially active, sporty kids–can be tough on their belongings, so it’s important to choose a bag or basket that can withstand wear and tear. Look for materials that are sturdy and easy to clean, such as waterproof fabrics.
Also consider the brand you’re buying from. A brand like Po Campo or Topo Designs make high quality adult bags, and their kids offerings are of similar quality. Buy a bag for your child now that they can use for years to come.
Style
Kids love to express themselves through their belongings, so it’s important to choose a bag or basket that reflects their personality and style. Is there favorite color pink? Find them a pink bag!
Small accessories like bags or baskets can make biking more fun, especially for kids how might need an extra little nudge to get excited about it.
Mounting
Consider how the bag or basket will be mounted on your child’s bike. Most bags have velcro mouts for the handlebars which work well. Heavier baskets, or those with a lot of gear in them, can be too heavy for velcro straps. In this case, something with a buckle works much better.
